When you adopt a pet, you are saving a life. According to the Humane Society of the United States, 2.7 million adoptable dogs and cats are euthanized in the US, simply because too many pets come into shelters and too few people consider adoption when looking for a new pet.
Maricopa County Animal Care is extremely busy during the spring and summer months. Right now the shelters are at capacity. MCACC has announced that they currently have over 865 dogs and cats in their care, which is approximately 200 more animals than they had in their care at the same time last year. In an effort to drastically reduce the number of animals currently in MCACC’s care, they have partnered with Utah-based Best Friends Animal Society to offer free adoptions this weekend, Friday, April 21st and Saturday, April 22nd.
These free adoptions are good for all cats, and any dog over six months old. If you are interested in adopting, head over to one of the two MCACC shelter locations on Friday between 11 am and 7pm or Saturday between 11 am and 5 pm to find your new furever friend.
